I read on the Facebook group that as of yesterday the ramp was still clear. I won’t know personally until Saturday.

Saturday 13 April

Went up on Saturday for about 3 hours of fishing. Launched at Elk Creek, parking lot was full. Did see quite a few boats, most fishing south or Curlew ramp, North of Lime Creek, saw very few nets out. We managed two strikes, and both were landed. the fish were 13 1/2"-14". Fish hit on an orange hoochie and the other one hit an orange spin-glo (size 8). Fished longline with 65-80 feet of line out, trolled at 1.2 mph.

I've heard others did fairly well over the weekend, but based on what I saw, not sure how accurate those reports are.

The water was 51.7 degrees. Good luck all-

Today

Did not fish, did talk to one guy at the ramp. Had two in the box, one was 20"+, the other about 16 1/2-17". He said the water temp was 52 degrees. Caught the fish (lost 1) at depths between 10-15 feet. Saw other boats between the dam and Fall Creek as I as driving did not see any one hooked up, but again, was driving.

Friday 5/3

Nice day on the water, lots of boats out there. Put 8 in the box, 14-18” in size. Pink hoochie, 10-15’ deep on the downriggers, 1.4mph.

May Fishing @ Anderson Res.

My wife and her friend were fishing on Sat 5/3 we caught 9 Kok size from 14" - 18". The electric DR lost 12V power. Fish right on the shallow, line out about 65' Kokabow slinger with pink shrimp hoochie. Trolling speed 1.6 MPH
Sunday 5/5 It's cold and windy, my wife and I caught 13 fish in 6hrs then the wind came up, fish size from 15 - 18". I did bypass electrical on the DR with jumpers and caught fish at 15'. Couple time they bite when I'm ready to put the line on the DR release.
Monday 5/6 we fish 2 hrs and I caught 2 big kokanee 1 measure 17.5" and 19". Wind blew so hard then we quit early.
Good luck fishing.

We fished Saturday and caught 16 really nice fat fish. Caught 7 little ones we put back for next year. I was shocked at how many boats were on the water. We were dropping lines shortly after 5 and within minutes we were surrounded by boats. Using a skateboard dodger in green and blue with black splatter. A Schindlers fly behind it tipped with maggots. The fish were deep and I kept shortening my leader until it worked the best. Normally this time of year I run a 10-12” leader. So I was surprised to cut it down to 4” and be running at 56’ deep.

The Kokanee Fishing Forum is very silent now. Do fisherman share their Anderson Reservoir fishing some where else?

This Kok tackle box I'll give to you. Send me a message with your email. Thanks.

Figured no one needed an update, seems like everyone and their dog is on Anderson this year! Didn’t bother with lime creek, looked like bumper boats. Headed towards the dam and did just as well. Caught six in about an hour and called it good. 50’ deep, pink as usual, corn and maggots, both worked.

Just posting to keep the forum active. God forbid we have to look into social media… I’d rather break a rod!
Cheers!

I can’t see the pic and for some reason I cannot figure out how the eff to send a private message. [email protected] is my email.

I kept thinking it was weird that I hadn’t gotten any notifications about any new posts. So decided I’d just go ahead and post.

I cheated and spent the night on the boat. We were dropping lines and balls at 0500. At one point I counted 21 other boats just that I could plainly see. It was ridiculous. Lucky Peak is turning on it sounds like. Payette is fun for about the first hour of daylight.

I can’t stand social media and the groups. I’d been kicked out of the Kokanee and Idaho fishing groups before I chose to not do the Facebook thing anymore.

Nice call sleeping on the boat, that’ll keep you ahead of the crowds! I honestly thought it was the Kokanee tournament at first when I saw all the boats. Suppose it’s the new normal, but maybe the 6 foot dam raise will give us more space on the water! Keep your head on a swivel and stay safe out there!

Fathers Day success

We brought home 8 fish yesterday with the largest being 19 1/2”, weighing 2 pounds 10 ounces. All caught between 40 and 60’ deep. Black and white with purple being the main catcher while orange caught a few. Fished Lime Creek and into the Narrows.

Slow day

Today was one of those days for me. Wasn’t marking many to begin with. Then it was trying to find the combination of dodger, lure, and color. Finally it was a pink and white sling blade with a pink spin-n-glow at 44 ft and 1.4mph. Only managed to catch 6 though. The googans were out in full force by noon.

July 5th

Only fished for 2 hours, couldn’t keep the small ones off the lines long enough to catch any thing of size. Tried speeding up, dropping lower, changing lures… guess I need to re-think things a bit.

I forgot to report on last Sundays trip. Buddy and I caught 15 trolling from the ramp straight across and made that a loop. Greens and pinks worked at 44 and 56 feet 1.4 mph.

Yesterday I was by myself and had my personal best day ever at Anderson. I learned more about my reactor autopilot and using it in conjunction with my Echomap. I came home with 12 keepers. Lost and let go of 9. I figured out how to shake the dinks off the line. I’m running new dodgers from Kokanee Kowboy. They are a lot smaller but can be bent and shaped for whatever action you want. Pink worked the best with chartreuse coming in second. Most were caught at 44 or 56’ with a few at 38’. 1.4 mph with a lot of zigzagging.

Friday August 2

Late report…put the boat in 0800, already getting pretty warm. Hadn’t been up in three weeks. One other boat out at that time, down by Lime. We stayed up by Curlew. Got 7 in two hours around 40 feet, green flasher/pink wedding ring tipped with gulp maggots. Alas, all fish in the 10” range. Two dink smallies hit the gear also. Lots of meter marks. Fish were bright, no sign of the turn, but these were youngsters.
Being Friday the lake filled up with crazies, it was getting uncomfortably hot, so we headed down the lake, went swimming, then home.
Surface temp 74.5 when we launched, 79 when we retrieved. I’m kinda done.
