    Default Hello from North Carolina

I am a new member, but not new to kokanee fishing. I've fished mostly in Oregon, but also British Columbia. I've used several methods, but my favorite is to vertical jig. I hope to meet new koke fishermen/women here, and would be willing to share any of my experiences with others.

    Default Welcome!

Welcome to KFF. I hope the koke fishing in NC will rebound. Things seem to be going on at Nantahala that are not good for the kokes. Where are you living in NC?

Currently living in New Bern. I've been very disappointed with the news from Nantahala. I was planning on a trip, but am having second thoughts.

Twanger, I remember fishing Horse Lake, in the Cariboo district, several years ago. We caught a few nice (~20") kokanee, but couldn't get away from the huge numbers of lakers almost everywhere we went. They simply just wore us out.
