    Cool Annual April Run

I don't get to the Gorge as I once use to however when I do start it comes in April when ice off and at least once a month afterwards ending in August. Its kokanee season and this is my 2nd trip fishing since 1st going to the Gorge. Prior to that its been a long 6mo since last fishing trip. I will be on the water tomorrow 4-9 ready for the hunt.

With reports coming in about wind it is not a favorable weekend with high gusts hampering outcome. Fishing day will be delayed until a better day comes in hoping next week.

    Default The Turn & Burn

I woke up at 0230 Saturday, as I laid there for the next 20min the Gorge light came on and I then knew I was not going back to sleep. I reached over for my phone to check wind conditions for the Gorge turning out to be a favorable window of opportunity before the fan kicks in for that up coming afternoon. I tapped the wife and got that groaning "WHAT", I'm going to the Gorge. By 0430 I had things loaded, my little companion who knew something was going on he wanted to be a part of it. We hit both were on our adventure that has always been known to me as a turn & burn. By 0800 we were on our happy fishing waters. SuperD, Kokaholic, and another good friend were in one boat in search of silver bullets at the Buckboard end & I was at the south end of the pipe where I found a couple of schools. I caught 4 on the day but 1 self released at the net and another was just out of dink stages so I released it to grow more. I did keep 2 in the box. Around noon the FAN had turned on. My April visit is now history.

Super you got out, Roger, before the roller coaster of weather upcoming this week. I'm still looking at calendar for a Gorge trip. In the mean time, I'm looking forward for some settled weather to start the spring warm up towards bass fishing.

    Tight lines.

Glad you made it up. You picked the best day of the weekend to go up, Sunday was cold and windy.

I was able to get out and do some fishing Saturday. We also found the kokes to be schooled up tight. We fished up north from you.
