    Default Jordanelle

Went to Jordanelle on June 3 (Wed) and met a gentleman I had never fished with before. We launched about 6:30 AM and a quick water temp layer check showed the 52* mark at about 35 feet down. We set out 4 lines, two at 30 or so and 2 above 10 feet. Within the first 90 minutes, I had 3 to the boat and 2 LDR's; all above 10 feet. All on a squid with a bill and orange/white. One of the three was a smallish brown trout that was immediately released. The other 2 were 14/15" kokanee that came home with me. My guest finally caught a pair of kokanee around the 11:00 to 11:30 AM time frame. That was it and we stopped fishing about 12:30. By the time we had everything stowed away and the fish cleaned and headed back to the launch, the wind was flowing at a good clip and we were looking at solid whitecaps everywhere. I still find it strange that the kokanee are still up in then top 6 to 8 feet of water with their desired temp down at 35 feet.

I was on the Berry that day where the kokes weren't playing to well at all. As I drove by Jordanelle I could see the white caps chirning the pot in the early afternoon.
