    Default Strawberry July 9

Me and my son took three newbies out for their first ever kokanee fishing trip. We hit the water about 6:30 AM. We started trolling just out of the marina and got a koke right off the bat and that was it for about a hour. In that hour I went through at laest a dozen different set up before putting out a pearl white squid behind a moonshine dodge and things started picking up after that, we put five limits of kokes in the cooler and turned about that many trout back. The boat was filled with smiles. It was great to watch the kids light up when the fishing picked up. Click image for larger version.

Hey nice hog Aaron, I haven't been to the Berry in a month but soon to get back out. The Dollar Ridge fire kept me home and from breathing smoke that would have flared my asthma. Sounds as though containment has finally got a hold on this.

Nice Picture. Good job. The Berry has been very nice this year to us as well. I think our fish we caught last year were bigger than what I have been catching this year but we have put a few Hogs in the cooler. What amazes me the last few years is the number of people who have figured out how to fish the Berry for Kokes. for years only a select few new the secrets and they were very tight lipped (me included). Now its a circus up there. Still its a wonderful fishery and am very proud to have it in our backyard (so to speak). Love that place we use it year round.

Thanks guys the kids had fun reeling the big kokes in. We got lucky and the wind was blowing just enough to keep the smoke away from the lake. I do agree the kokes we got last year seemed bigger and yes that place is getting more and more fishing pressure each year as more people hear about the quality of the fish that place is kicking out.
