Personally, I find they work the best for me. I own a couple of freshwater baits that I've painted solid black except for a glow in the dark stripe on the top of the lure. I also have a couple of classic ones, which I got at http://huntingfishingplus.com/best-g...fishing-lures/ I can monitor my bait that is all over the place on the lines. So, I decided to buy the paint from someplace, don't know where. For this season I've purchased a lot of sparkly stuff to attempt, from squids to vertical dances, to secrets. So, this year I'm definitely going to give it a decent attempt. I have a couple of shine items for shore angling, but not that many really. But, hey, we'll see how everything works. I haven't given it a shot on stripers yet. However, I did catch some decent salmon using the green and white sparkling lure. As others have stated, utilize a camera to illuminate it.
