When I fish tube flys/ mini hoochie. I never really fish hoochies. I use 12# Flor leader approx 8/10 inches behind a wobbler. The wobbled give the tube fly action or your hoochies. I like Arrow flashers by paulson cascade. Solid silver,24ct gold. On real cloudy days copper.
For me, it is about 50/50. I usually start out with a #0 or a #1 blade. If a buddy catches one on a fly or micro that's naked, I switch. Lol!

This was one of my more productive tube flies from last Summer.

If I use a full hootchie, it tends to be with a bill.

Thanks for the advice.
Billa,
I've found hoochies with a bill to be much more successful than a hooch alone. Hooch with a spinner often work better than bare hoochie. I use a billed hoochie mostly, as the bill is tops at my local lakes.

More food for thought be careful on trolling speed to slow a troll you won't get the results you need with spinner blades. I love Macks smile blade there designed for low trolling speed I starting using them some time ago and work great also on a tube fly. Trolling speed very important with spinners.
Under 1.5/ my average is 1.5 to 1.7
