Same shape and weight, I just ended up with more weights than I really needed. I'm sold on the stick weight shape for a number of reasons, low clutter line on the graph, don't hang up on bottoms, low blow back and a portion of the weight remains in the water when the rigger is fully raised. Stick weights are also very easy to make at a very low price if you have the lead or some old downrigger balls you are willing to melt down.

Where did you order them from initially? I am looking into buying some.

The guy I bought mine from isn't around anymore. Do you have any lead? I made quite a few last year if you've seen my DIY weights in the tackle craft board. I'd be glad to help you make some. I might even have a couple that I could sell you. They are 9 lbs. but just not the SS.

Gorgehunter, you are in luck. I found 2 SS weights and 2 of the DIY tube weights that are available.

And the SS are the same ones in the picture with tapered tops? Do you just connect the DR clip and the release to the same top eyelet?

Yes on the taper and yes, you can connect to the eyelet. I use a Black's release or a cable clamp on Offshore release so my releases are just above the weight. I imagine we aren't too far away from each other if you'd like to come take a look at them.

Hi gorgehunter , I've been using the Stick type weight for the last year and I like them a lot better than the cannonball style or the fish style. I agree with Dave that the Stick weights have less blowback , take up less room etc. I got mine from Bottomline Tackle and they work just fine. Just throwing in my 2 cents .

Weighed the SS weights and they were actually 10 lbs. They are still available.
