It's true; the kokanee are alive and well in Starvation. I just came back from a 5 day stay there and I'm glad to report that the kokanee seem to be taking hold there. I spent a good amount of time seeking walleyes but spent some mid-day time trolling for trout and salmon. I put 3 kokanee in the box on Wednesday and one more on Thursday. They were all about 12" which shows a good growth in only 1 year. Eggs were already evident in 2 of them. I'm hoping that because of the size of Starvation that they will not stunt like they have in Porcupine, Causey, and Moon. But time will tell and I'll be back agin next year in early August to check them out. I'll be smoking and canning this coming week to improve the freezer hoard of filets and whole salmon. Can you say kokanee kandy?
