Default My Custom Kicker Bracket Build

Ok - My friend Efrain & I have finished my Custom Kicker Bracket and kicker has been mounted & lake-tested. Bracket is super-strong and looks pretty darn good for a DIY job IMO. The front and rear "U" pieces were brake-formed for extra strength and the bracket is fixed to the transom and joined structurally with 1/2" dia. SS Bolts with 2-1/2" x 4" x 3/16" SS reinforcing plates on the inner transom wall. Partial welds were also placed to prevent toothless wonders/scumbags from disassembling the bracket in an attempt to steal the motor and I'll be buying a pair of Stazo Smartlocks to lock the motor clamps. The four 5/16" SS bolts holding the motor on have the nuts welded to hinder theft also. If they want it that bad & manage to make off with it, my BoatUS insurance covers the kicker against theft with a miniscule $50 deductible.

Using an EZ-Steer from my Skipjack 20 to slave the big Merc & the Yamaha together on the Proline. She sits a little lower in the water at the stern with the extra weight so will most likely be building a motor well dam block out of either 3/4" Starboard or Aluminum Plate to help prevent a wave surge from dumping a bunch of water into the cockpit in a oh-sheet scenario. Under way with the T9.9, only a small amount of the lower rear of the bracket is in contact with the water. Up on plane with the big Merc and with the Yamaha fully tilted, the stern rises enough that the bracket is clear of the water and so is the prop & skeg.
