    Default Kone Zone?

I got a Kone Zone flasher/dodger from the Greenville SC Cabela's bargain cave. Has anyone used them Koke fishing, and more importantly had luck with them?

Do you have the 4", 6", 7.5", or 9" model? The 9" model works ok for Fall Chinook in the Columbia River. Most of your 4" stuff is good for Kokes. I've converted lots of wobblers and spoons to dodgers as well and did well. Personally like gold Arrow Flash dodgers, 50/50 brass Arrow Flash dodgers, moon glow winged Arrow Flash dodgers, and the flame, green, chartreuse-green, and pink netted wing Arrow Flash Dodgers, and Slingblades in multiple UV colors. If your Kone Zones are 4" and even 6" you should do fine depending on water conditions, weather and colors you got.

I've got the 6" model. I'll give it a shot next time out. I like the big Manistee wobblers as dodgers and the Hagen's 4" Crow spoon has worked well for me.

Hold onto those Manistees, Luhr Jensen stopped making those. Hagen must be a midwest brand, I have never heard of them. Worth your money to try Cascade Poulsen's Arrow Flash dodgers. KokaneeKid Fishing sells them, the important ones anyways. You might be able to get them elsewhere, dunno. I just sent this exact list to my brother to stock up ... lol

His Mysis bug is killer too. I normally run hoochies and spoons, and wedding rings as a last resort. ArrowFlash throws a hoochie like bonkers on a 6-8" 12# fluorocarbon leader. I like Maxima. Tight lines.

Thanks for the info. I already have some Half Fast spoons I got a while back, a local discount tackle dealer had them for a dollar each. I took the hooks off and added swivels and use them as dodgers, you're right they throw some serious thump. TM

I did very well using Kone Zones for kokanee but they caused awful line twist even after adding multiple ball bearing swivels. I finally quit using them.

I use them here early in Idaho for kokes when they are a little scattered out. I use the bigger one. Have never had a line twist problem with them yet. I did find here that you have to run a very long leader to your baits. I found 3 to 4 feet worked best. A gentleman in Canada told me last year that the bigger model spooks them a little and to down size, so I did , then I couldnt get them to work at all. So here long leader big kone zone, and a very slow troll like 1 mph.

Bead chain swivels work well. We use them on the Brad's Super Baits since they spin like crazy. Fishslayer: I will have to give the added leader length a try. What did you find worked best for terminal tackle behind them?

We have a spinner my daughter has been making for about 10 years now. We call it a Kristina special after her. In the photo its the middle 2 and the blade is red lure tape on top of a #2 french blade and green lure tape on the under side. It works great every where we go. Here in dworshak its our top producer. Hootchies and apexs etc are slow here in this lake. Spinners will out fish them every time. It was also our top producer when Wallowa lake was hot fishing catching several in the 4 & 5 lb range. It also caught my wifes 6lb from there too.
