Default Great Day at Buckboard with the wife and dog

We had a great day of fishing out of Buckboard this morning. Got on the water at 7:30 and it was on !! There were fish everywhere, you could have started trolling out of the marina and limited out in an hour ! We lost as many as we landed, and thanks to my crappy netting, lost the big fish of the day. We limited out easily and then caught some mini-macs. Looked for bass but the water is still a little cold. The hot set-up was anything you put down there, but we caught the kokes on RMT dodgers and pink UV squids. The wife and dog had a great time. Enjoy the pics !!

    WAY TO GO!

You say the water temp was too cold for smallies, what was the temp. They were in late pre-spawn two weeks ago at the derby but still catchable. Big Fish of the derby was a 4.8# smallie. Oh well, it won't be long now with this week's warm spell.

    Default Nice pics!

I have been coming up here for the last 2-3 years at Buckboard and have done pretty well but fishing right now is exactly what you describe-it's off the scale for kokes-best I've ever encountered.

Maybe I will see you on the water tomorrow-I'll just look for the dog. He's hard to miss..... :)

I only tried one cove at big bend for bass. the surface temps were around 54 everywhere. There was a 3 day bass tournament on the lake last week, so they got pounded. I dont know the lake that well to find bass that aren't in the shallows, right near shore !!! I hope to be back in a few weeks, it took me years to get my wife into fishing, and when the fishing it that good, it makes it fun for both of us.

    now that's funny
    dog that loves eating kokes.

    dog lickin' good.
I take my Omega 3 one Koke at a time. 5 Kokes a day keeps the fisherman happy.
