I made another trip out to the regulating resevoir Monday. Got a late start because of the cold and the rain but got a limit from 10 - 2:30. It really got hot from 1 - 2, I don't know if I found the magic trolling pass or the fish turned on, but I had doubles on 3 or 4 passes in a row. I also caught my first ling (burbot, eel pout, lawyer fish) which was quite a surprise. They are very tasty for such an ugly fish - picture a cross between a catfish and an eel. The kokes were 12 - 18 inches. They don't seem to be as chunky as last year - may more but smaller fish in the resevoir. Green and Pink hoochies behind a Watermelon, Copper/Pink, and Brass/Nickel dodgers all produced at 1.3 - 1.6 mph. They are pumping water out faster than in so I don't know how much longer I will be able to launch. It may be time to switch to walleye at Canyon Ferry.
