    Default Navajo 2012

Has anyone been out fishing for Kokes here? I went last weekend and managed catching a brown trolling by the spill way.

Anyone got any tips for spring kokes?

    FlyGuy you back from PHX?

Hi Larry , I'm still in AZ , and won't be back to NM till about July 1 this yr. It will be a short Koke season for me this yr .
Ive caught kokes at Navaho this time of yr with the down rigger set about 10 ft and a long set back
Early they often seem to be scattered and not schooled up. They can be anywhere , but Id try around the mouth of the San Juan and Pine arms .
Let me know how it goes .

Boated 10 kokes on sunday all around 10 to 14 inches

trolling the mouth of Francis .9 to 1.7 MPH
long lining chrome cowbells with green spinners or green wedding rings tipped with corn

They all seemed to bite as we were trolling towards the dam not so much while trolling into Francis

    dick.

hmm its been a while since we were out last which was the 1st of July we started at 730am and ended at around 1100am there were about 4 boats trolling for fish then around 1000am the tubers and speed boaters just made everything crazy. so we stopped. not too much pressure im thinking

we did really well 3 people and 13 fish boated it was a good day

    why do you ask?

Just wondering . Last few yrs , not much pressure at all .
I wasnt coming back this yr , but a wild fire started down by the river. It distroyed most of my garage . The fire dept got there i time to save my cabin except some damage to one wall, and the big garage where my big boat is stored.
I'll be up there to take care of things late in the first week of August , not in time for Kokanee. I thought we might get together then .
