Merwin 2/23/12

My best pal Ramaja fished Merwin while I was at home with the boys, to his credit he invited me but, I had to decline. One guy limit by 1330, a few trout mixed in or so I was told. Stuart Angling Dodgers and new Squibugs. One fish went to a Seps and a whitenight color squibug, went 15 inch.

Fish at 25 feet, scattered, had to find with electronics. Downriggers trailing Stuart Angling Ball trolls.

There were a surprising number of boats out for a Thursday in February - at one point I had 18 other craft in sight. Results were hit and miss from those I talked to - a couple two-man limits, and as many skunked or 1 or 2 fish in the boat.

There's fish down there, for sure, but they're pretty skinny. The Columbia Spring Chinook season's shaping up pretty good, so hopefully the pressure at Merwin will ease up and let the Kokes bulk up a little for some great late spring fishing.

Wasn't as good today. Only three in the boat, lost two, released one little one. Tomorrow is another day....on the lake that is... We'll let you know how it goes.
