    Default Clam Chowder

This is a really good chowder recipe.

You will need 2lbs clams or 1lb shelled or canned** its better fresh
3 oz rindless bacon,2 med. onions finely diced,6 med. potatoes peeled and cubed,1 tbsp flour, salt and pepper,5 cups of milk,,1 cup light cream. first cook the clams, strain the clam juice and save, cook the bacon in large deep sauce pancook slow til fat renders, cook onion in bacon fat till translucent, add flour and potatoes, salt and pepper, milk and the clam juice. cover and boil about 10 min. or till potatoes done.add the clams chooped upand light cream, cook another 15 min. if you want really clammy taste use some clam base. put on bowl, i like to sprinkle a little parsley or dill on top and serve with garlic bread or use a sourdough round loaf, remove center, disce up, roll in melted butter, sprinkle with garlic and dill, bake till crispy on the outside. put soup in the sour dough loaf bowl and top with the baked cubed up bread. yummmmmmmmmmmmm enjoy
