Default Describe your Ultimate Kokanee Boat

If you could design your ultimate kokanee fishing boat, what would it be like. Include boat length, width, motors type/horse power, downriggers and other boat assessories. I thought this could be a good resource for those who are looking for ideas when buying a new boat. My boat would look something like this: 19 or 20ft. Northwest Jet w/78" wide floor. 150HP four stroke Yamaha with 9.9 Yamaha kicker. Boat has canvas top with full sides and back. Three Canon Mag 10's Electric downriggers. Plenty of storage in floor and in gunnels for rods and tackle. Built in fish box. Top end gps/mapping fish finder. Four folbe rod holders. 60lb. thurst Minn Kota for jigging. I'm sure I could add more, but I think this would be a great start.

My ultimate kokanee boat would be at least 20 ft. w/ 32" sides (Duckworth preferred)with at least a 76" wide floor. A 150 Mercury Verado , 4 Cannon electric riggers, Minn Kota w/ IPilot, Lowrance HDS 10, VHF, good top & side curtains, wash down, lots of storage & loaded up with lots & lots & lots of quality gear. I'd like it to be black, because there's too many white (North River) boats out there already.

That's the boat I'd design. Oh wait, Duckworth already did it for me!

I guess my idea of the perfect Kokanee boat would be Mr. D's parked in my yard and available for use at anytime but cost and maintenance still belonging to Mr. D.

Actually, I deep, wide boat, 4 downriggers, kicker motor and electric motor fits the bill for me. Knowing me like I do, I know any dream boat I ever have, I'll wish it had some more features, size or somethijg over time.

I'm partial to roominess. A 27' Explorer with side curtains, 4 electric downriggers, up to date electronics, marine band radio, I/O or 4stroke outboard and a 9.9 kicker or better, brand to be determined, some of the itemized MMM mentioned is in place. I want a deck thats easily washed down after the days catch. Got to have a place to keep a couple of cold beverages on hand.

I guess like the others my own boat. 19' Jetcraft w/ 175 sportjet and 6hp Honda kicker with Panther remote steering, top w/ side and rear curtains, 2 Scotty 1106 Electrics, Hummindird 785 GPS/FF, rear benches to hold a bunch of other nicesessities, bait tank, font anchor stoage, stereo, Uniden VHF and more. Of course all of this was because the wife didn't like the looks of our old boat. One more thing, it's paid for!!!

Why does nobody list a fishing arch. I finally installed one of my custom arches on my own boat and it is real nice for rod carrying capacity and with the net holders on each side makes for easy access. Glad I finally did it and why did I wait so long.

Thank you very much! It is, of course, my ultimate kokanee boat....and so much more. If I was buying a boat JUST for Kokes it would probably be a bit smaller.

My ideal Koke boat is my Bayliner 2452. My ideal hardware is the TOILET so I can stay out from sun up to sun down. I am wondring if MMM's boat actually floats with all that hardware.

The Bayliner 2452 is possibly the alltime favorite fishing boat for big water on a limited budget. It is easily towed by a 3/4 ton and possible to tow with a 1/2 ton. Lots of them out there and price is varried due to a wide range of equipent and a wide range of age. A nice boat.

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have the makings of a great boat. Can't imagine how excited you must be. What extras are you planning to outfit this beauty with? Downriggers? ect. What size motors will it have?
