    Default Mackay Solstice Report, Coldddddddd!

Man was it cold out there this morning. 7 below zero and a 15 to 20 mph "breeze!" Bitter!

The holes wouldn't stay open for more than a minute but the fishing was red hot. All fish came at 12 to 15' depth over 40' of water. The bite was constant until I left at 11:00 to head into work!

I had the pleasure of meeting Ovid Creek and his son out on the ice today.

    Pics!

    MMM,

What are you using to catch your fish? I have never ice fished and know nothing about it but am interested in what the fish are hitting on in such cold water, jigs, bait of some kind,???

We use a shiny attractor jig with two 1/32 pink jigs suspended at 10 and 20" below the attractor. The pink hooked jigs are baited with shoepeg corn that is dyed pink and scented. The Kokes are attracted by jigging and then it's game on.

The Kokanee fishing this year is much better than last! Had a great time out there both Saturday and Sunday. If you are on the ice stop by and say Hello!
