I decided to stay home this weekend. I got the replacement motor for my panther remote steering unit so I'll replace that today. I need to do some re-wiring on the barge batteries. I have two new rod building projects to get started and I have a feeling that the boss wants to get some more yardwork done.

    Good luck if you go!

We were around the Dam till about 11 then moved up to Canyon creek, had some lunch and did some bass fishin. Then a little more kokanee fishin and quit about 5. Half a dozen bass, one nice trout, and 8 kokes and lost a cople more. One of the bass Ron caught was a toad, 18+ inches! LIL

    Sue,
Kevin is being too modest. We got into some really big kokes. I was hoping this was gonna be the year at Dworshak but I didnt have any evidence that it would be until last weekend.

    Check out this monster evidence!

    Here is the bass:

We caught a decent trout too but I dont think we got any pictures.

Good times while waiting for Spring Chinook though. Hopefully I can get after them soon.

Thanks again for the rid Lil!

It's always fishable and you can usually find a fish or two? Might be up there as well. LIL

wasn't sure about the day and weather but left home in the rain anyway, got on the reservoir to patchy blue sky but soon had 2 HUGE downpours and then it was good the rest of the day - we found a section with fish and had fish all day and evening til dusk in the same 300 yard area just above freeman across the way, 2 rods at 25' with 1 1/2 oz lead and the other 2 at 48' - ran downriggers early but the fish weren't pulling off the release and we couldn't tell they were there plus the 2 other rods were getting hits - lost a ton but boated 22, nothing impressive on size but was a very fun day!

When you say nothing impressive in size are they at least foot longs? I've got the week off and need to take Hailey girl fishing somewhere. Tomorrow is looking good weather wise and was considering Dworshak. Just dont want to spend the day catching 7" fish there when I could go to local lakes, hunt mushrooms and catch 14" trotskeys.

8-10" ron .....there has to be bigger ones in there, we were on a good spot with constant bites so stayed with it - wondered about going farther up to cranberry crk area, will be back up one day next week to try - surface temp was a warm 60 and its about 15' below full - a little grass trash in the water but not bad....good luck let us know what you do!

Spent the day at Grandad yesterday ended up boating 61 kokes,
not one of them broke 7 inches tossed them all back but a few that
werent going to live. Fished all over in my normal places. Smallest fish Ive ever seen in 15 years of fishing here.
Hope the big kokes are around somewhere !

Bass fishing was great in warm inlets drop shoting a wacky worm.

Thanks for the reports. Good to hear the bass are still biting with the water on the rise. I wish i knew what why the lake is producing so many small kokanee the past couple years. Something is messing with the natural cycle. There are millions of them scattered the whole length of the reservoir but even with big trout and bass gorging on them there is apparently too much competition for food and they arent growing. You gotta start canning those little guys for the sake of the fishery!

Anyway, Going to leave the barge parked and take the little boat to Soldiers Meadow. It was stocked with nearly 11,000 catchable sized kamloops rainbows a couple weeks ago so those and the crappie there will keep Hailey entertained for a couple hours. I also hear the mushrooms are popping out after all this rain so we'll take a little hike and look for some to sautee with our fresh grilled trout.
