Hi and welcome to the forum. Thanks for the info and all the work you guys have been doing at Dworshak. I've fished the lake for many years now and this year has had both great fishing and the size...
I am running Lamiglass FC76UL and love it. The rods are extremely limber but are built very well and can handle most any kokanee you can throw at it.
I fished Dworshak yesterday with a buddy and we put 50 fish in the boat. The fish are averaging 10.5"-13" this year and are nice and fat. We started out in Canyon Creek and the fishing was slow so we...

Thanks for the feed back guys. I will look into the dual purpose battery.
I have 2 batteries in my boat, 1 for the trolling motor and 1 for the engine starting and accessories. I need to replace the starting battery and am not sure whether I should get a deep cycle or...
Most people I've talked to about bow mounted trolling motors wished they had gotten the next size larger, including myself. Wind & current have a huge effect on the performance of your motor.
My advice would be save your pennys and get a couple manual crank downriggers they are fairly affordable. A couple years ago I finally got a couple Cannon downriggers and wouldn't go back to the...
I always fish with 2 rods myself and up to a max of 5 rods with multiple people in the boat. Some are fished on downriggers and some flatline. Quick turns are out of the question and autopilot sure...
Sounds interesting, I'll be tuning in.
Nice job! Sounds like a great way to start the new year off.
I'm also looking for a new graph. What model is your Lowance and what are you upgrading to?
Awesome fish! Congrats on a fish of a life time.
I'm going to give that stuff a try. I've tried just about everything else with little luck. Thanks for the tip.
Congrats, I hope you are heading to the taxidermist. You'll have your work cut out for you trying to catch a larger one.
Another good reel to consider is the Shimano Tekota 300 which is the smallest of the Tekota line. I have a line counter on mine but you can get them without. They run around $180.
Thanks for all your advice. I will be heading up to Spokane very soon so that I can actually look at a few units hands on and make my final decision. I am pretty sure i will be buying the HDS 5 unit.
Ken,
I'm definetly leaning towards the HDS 5 unit now. I would like to get the unit with GPS on it also. I've been at Lowarance's website and all the pictures of this unit show a split screen half...
Ken - Thanks for the reply.
I mainly fish for kokanee and sturgeon. I'm looking for a graph that will pick up both the thermocline (activity level) and very accurately read the bottom structure...
I'm looking to get a new depth finder and am leaning towards the Lowrance Elite 5 DSI. It has sonar, gps, and the down scan imaging. My only concern is that it only has a max depth of 250 feet. Some...
What a great way to end your season!
