I usually just keep going unless there are more than 2 fish on at the same time.
It is a very under-utilized technique around here. It works very good under the right conditions.
Yes Dan, it is legal(made legal in the last 2 years)to use roe in UT.
Ok, just got the official answer from the DWR law enforcement.
He told me that ANY koke with even the slightest pink tint will get you a ticket. Absolutely no red, pink, or orange color to any...
I did not ask the ? to keep as red of kokes as i could get away with. I was trying to figure out if it is worth fishing for them anymore and if a tiny amount or pink tint would solicit a ticket. I...
I have not read nor talked to anyone who can tell me when there is too much red in a koke to be illegal to keep after the close of possession. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks.
My uncle lives on the Willamett river and the koke fishing in his area has been good lately. They are using RMT gear and Don Martins Thin Twin blades with a hook and corn.
You need to give RMT a try. We have been killing the kokes everywhere we fish in UT with them.

Best finder i have ever owned.
Yeah, they make UV spray and gel for that purpose. One is called Fool-A-Fish and i forgot the other one. I have been using it on macks(oh oh, i just spilled the beans) and they LIKE it!tooexcited
Yeah, i called the biologist today at the DWR and asked him about it. He laughed and said smallies will show up in there before kokes will. I hope cliff doesn't read this forum!nanalaugh hyst
That's pretty close. Not like last year though. There is no "river" in the scout arm. The water is still high enough to dump right into lake level.
I call BS. I have had several conversations with a DWR pal and they have no intentions of ever planting kokes in there.
Nope, i figure there are enough people who don't have a clue how to catch them it will be alright. There is only 12 days left before they are closed anyway.
Been KILLING the kokes at Causey the last 3 days. Fish up to 18" and fat all over the place. Trolling with handline downriggers(DKSRenegades idea-Thanks Dale) down 15' to 40' with RMT dodgers, RMT...
Great job dude! Sounds like a little advice goes a long way.
worthy
Sounds like you need to come up with me and Kelly. We'll show ya some "spots".thumbsup
Anytime Dale. You 2 are fun to fish with. Do you think my boat is worthy of the Gorge??
Broke that old small record today at the Berry. 18.5" long and 2.11#! Yeah Baby!
After much talk and getting the "fever" last weekend at the pig, Kelly, his dad, and me went to the berry after some silver bullets. We anticipated not catching anything but cuttcarp or slimebows but...
No doubt. It was fun catching those little silver bullets. The best part will be tomorrow when i can get them out of the smoker.
Fished the pig with kokehead and a friend today from 6 am to 3 pm with excellent results. We trolled at 1.6 to 2.0 with RMT dodgers and uv squids tipped with carp spit. We fished the balls at 29 to...
