Nice Fish!!!
Here piggy piggy...
Great post!!thumbsup
You got the blood flowing, now I'm gonna have to hit Stevens this weekend.
My daughter caught her first kokanee in Lake Stevens this morning, a 12 incher on a pink hootchie. This will be this first in many to come. We were 80' down with the pink hootchie behind a 50/50...
Great report!!!
Glad you you have done well, apex lures have been the go to set up for later summer fishing as long as I can remember.

Hey Kokonuts,
The limit is 10 per person on Lake Stevens and it depends on the year but generally they average a plump 12-14" later in the season.
Good luck out there ~ Mr. Kok
You have to get on the lake early this time of year before the skiiers start in for the day but the Kok's are still biting in deeper {45-60'} water.
Terminal Rig ~ 4/0 dodger, wedding ring, bait...
Thanks DB...
The batteries were dead in the fish finder so I was fishing blind, maybe that was the problem. It sounded like Rottenchum even had a tough day, he only boated 5 fish.
Good Job...thumbsup
Thanks for the report!!
It was tough on Lake Stevens this morning.
Fished from 6:30 to 10:30 without a single bite. We threw lots of gear at them from wedding rings of all colors to hootchies of all colors, all behind...
Awsome DB, hope you did not get too wet.
If the monsoon stops I am going to hit Lake Stevens tomorrow with my dad and post how we do. This is my favorite time of year for Kok's.
WOW, those are monster Kokanee, good job!!!
Commander -
That is a starting point but set-ups can vary depending on what mood the kok's are in that day.
The advice is this tread is very spot on for Lake Stevens.
Good Luck ~ Brent

Hi Gene,
Smalma covered the exact set-up I use, although sometimes I use a #10 treble instead of the double hook set if I am loosing fish on the double and vice versa, just depends how they are...
Went out Friday afternoon 4/23 in the wind and rain. Got 8 in the boat 12-14" and lost another 12 at 12-16 feet deep on the downrigger with the usual dodger, wedding ring, corn, sent.
Went out yesterday {Lake Stevens} and caught 6 ~ 11-14" on the standard wedding ring dodger corn. It was slow in the morning, then at about 10 am we had a double on and two more right after that. ...
Good for you, teaching your kids about the outdoors is one of the most rewarding things you can do. Attached are a couple pictures of my daughter with an 18" rainbow she caught last month.
JWS,
I think you are referring to Catherine Creek and I have never seen any Kok's spawn in that creek but there are some good-sized Coho in there right now. According to Greg at Greg's Custom...
This is for all you kok heads out there, my self-included. These were taken last Sunday in Mitchell Creek a tributary of Lake Stevens.
