Kokanee & Herring
A few years back someone introduced Blueback Herring into Nantahala Lake in North Carolina. Prior to the Herring the lake had a healthy population of nice size Kokanee. The herring have pretty much wiped out the salmon. The state is planning to stock fingerling in the lake for four years. The original population of Kokanee were stocked from 1958 to 1962. Can Kokanee Salmon survive with Blueback Herring? The lake is 1600 acres. Thanks, Fred

Wonder if they are trying this as the 1/2 ass way to deal with the problem. 1,600 acre lake needs to be drawn down, poisoned and start over, IMO.

Blue back Herring
Since the herring feed on the zooplankton the same as the kokanee, Dosent look good for the kokanee.
