Then I lost another fish because the line got itself wrapped around the reel handle while it was in the rodholder. Don't know how but it happened. After that it was good. The fish only wanted to bite when I was trolling with the wind. I marked fish from 35-60'. Water temp 64. I fished at 40' with one rod. I had my 5 by 8. They ranged from 10.5-13.5". I fished a red spinner with UV dodger. Then up to Yale for some minnows. I moved 3 times but could only find little 8-9" fish.

I may go Monday as I volunteered to babysit my grandson on Tuesday. Talked to Mike, park caretaker, he caught a 9lb rainbow on his flyrod at Swift Resv. Didn't know they had fish that big up there. I think I want to check that out.

Good morning. Got my new motor and am very pleased. It weighs more so I'm thinking I will have to move weight forward in the boat so it doesn't sit as low at the stern.

Went to Merwin yesterday. Got there about 5:15. I was the 2nd boat in the lot. 3 fellas in a red Lund with a tower were pulling away from dock when I backed down the ramp. They ran straight across lake. Conditions were windy and rainy.

I went straight to the area just upstream from the waterfall. Fish were still there. I lost a fish,13",that got the hooks tangled in the net. As I thought I had him in the net I started to lift and he jumped/swam out with the hooks stuck. I thought I would just lift it all out of the water. As I did he was doing his koke thing thrashing all about. He broke off and I lost my favorite spinner. Not to impressed with Pline florocarbon.

Thanks for the info. Still salmon fishing. No salmon today but we did get 3 summers. Going again tomorrow and think that will be it. Looking like I'll get up to Merwin this Friday. I have an older blue willie boat. If I see your Hewes craft I'll come say hello. Tight lines.

Greetings. I talked with you last season in mid-september. We were both tied up at the dock waiting for first light. Anyway I'm anxious to get back up to Merwin and start fishing for those silver streaks. I was wondering what the surface water temp is now? Thanks, Bob.
