  1. Hi Steve,
It is very simple. No lures, no jigs, no spinners.. Just bare 6lb line with a lead and the # 6.0 fishing hook. All,you do is bait the hook with piece of shrimp and add an salmon egg.
I purchase a bag of frozen pre-cooked shrimps (will last me for many trips) and take about 3 or 5 out. Then I cut them up to about 3 pieces each to fit the no 6 hook. I also carry a small jar of red or pink salmon eggs when I fish for Kokes. I slide the thawed shrimp piece on the hook first and then one salmon egg as well. That's nice and not too big of a bait in appearance. I throw it in the lake (I'm on my boat) and wait till it gets down to about 2 feet from the lake bottom. Then I place rod in the holder and wait for takers. I get Kokes, Dolly's, Trout or even Lake Trout at times that way.. But you have to very gentle when big fish hits as you only have a 6lb line! But they will come up with patience..

    Hope this helps..

"Our Kokes in British Columbia, Canada are small to medium size. I hate trolling and I love to fish for them 60 feet deep with a light 6lb test line! Thay take my shrimp or Salmon Eggs fast. Than the fun begins... I also get a few Dolly Vardens or Bull Trouts this way. Those are also a riot on the light lines! See my photos."

Thanks for the response, I'm not nearly the fisherman you appear to be from those photos you posted. I don't quite understand how you present your "shrimp or salmon eggs" as you described in you post. If you could elaborate I would appreciate that. I am very new at Koke fishing, and I can use all the advice I can get.

    Thanks, Steve
