Steve I was saying I fished Roosevelt about 15 years ago for kokanee/rainbow but thinking about it was probably more like 18 years ago, even at that it was just one trip and had never fished there before. Like you said there were lots of fish we just stumbled in there and caught lots of kokanee and a boat full of rainbow also, then I got into walleye fishing and never went back for kokanee/raibow so I know little about the lake in that respect. This year I decided to hit Roosevelt with some effort and started January 27th the rainbow fishing was outstanding but kokanee were none to 3 a day I never caught a hatchery kokanee all were native, in talking with Lou the winter early spring months are the best there is defiantly something going on in a bad way up there for the kokanee, as I do work for WDFW I have been asking some questions and unfortunately know one seems to know what is going on up there they do not know where the hatchery fish are going and they do not even know where the native kokanee are coming from. I have one more guy to call for hopefully some information but it sounds slim. I need to do some more research on my own.
