I've gone away from double hooks this year for ease of releasing fish. I'm not entirely happy with how my hook is profiling with the lure using the snell knot. Anyone else using single hooks have a suggestion?

You might give the turle knot a try. On a down turned eye hook it helps drive the point into the fish's mouth, if the actual knot is on the under side of the hook. On an upturned eye hook I think it works the same if the knot is on the top side of the shank. Tom

Any results with the turtle knot as compared to the snell knot?

I used some clinch knots and palomar knots with good results.

I tie all my single and double setups with a egg loop line comes straight out of the eye works really well

I generally use a uni-knot for my hook set-ups, use it for salt water salmon fishing as well, never had one fail. A good all around knot, it will join lines together as well. Bob R
