I thought I'd try this simple stick weight build. Having some old lead around, these weights are only about $10/each out of pocket.

First time melting lead:

1 1/4" EMT conduit with 1" knockout caps. 14" pipe = 9.2 pounds:

Very Nice!!!!! SuperD Slick build, does the eye bolt extend down into the lead inside?

The eye has a 2.5" shank. I double nutted a washer at the tip of the shank to act as an anchor in the lead. It's not coming out. I also JB Welded the caps on both ends so it should be water tight.

Dave did you leave the 1" 1/4 emt on or take it off? I am trying to get ready to make me some while my boat is getting repaired. Thanks Bill

Bill, the caps in the 2nd and 3rd pics seal the lead in the conduit. 14” of 1 1/4” EMT created 9 lbs. weights.
