Hi,
Well I finally got out last night for the first time Koke fishing this year.
Had to catch up and repair winter house damage - Honey Do list - and my maritime consulting.
Used my new micro-lite set up.
Fished from 8:30 to midnight. (only 4 boats out)
Anchored in 47 ft. of water and fished (jigging) at 28 ft. (all night)
Kodiak glow Zebra jig with dropper baited with maggots and shoe-peg corn.
OMG - REPEAT - OMG !!!!!!
First hit small brown trout - released.
Second hit - "MONSTER" Kokanee for West Hill - 16 1/2 inches !
Third hit lost.
Fourth hit - another "MONSTER" gone wild on the surface - Thru the hook after wild antics of tail walking and jumping.
Fifth hit lost
Sixth hit - small Rainbow - released.
Seventh hit - another "MONSTER" Koke gone wild and thru the hook.
Eight hit - another small Rainbow - released.
Ninth hit - Second "MONSTER" Koke landed - 17 inches.
Last hour of fishing - everything stopped.
My new micro-lite set up worked like a dream - so sensitive !
CONCLUSION: ....."2 Very Fat MONSTER KOKES" in the box for my first sortie out - I'm a happy man!!! thumbsup
Grilled KOKANEE on the BBQ tonight + Rice pilaf + grilled Zucchini + French stick bread + bottle of white wine tongue2
