Friday, August 30, fished Yale reservoir. Came home with 40 kokanee which I divided with my two fishing partners. Saturday night had couple over for barbeque who had taken 20 of those fish home. While husband was cleaning fish his wife noticed how beautiful the eggs were and decided to make caviar. According to her she brined the eggs for 30 minutes and gently rinsed them and proceeded to brine them one more time. She put eggs in small glass jar and presented them to me upon their arrival. I told her that my first impression was that they were the most gorgeous caviar that I have seen in my life, however I would be skeptical about the flavor. Ten minutes later after preparing gourmet crackers with cream cheese and topped with kokanee caviar I was in caviar heaven. The taste was clean with just a very slight salmon flavor. and wonderful feel to the mouth. Turned out to be the treat of the night, however, the baby back ribs. kale and potato salad wasn't too shabby.
