The Kokanee season is now approaching its peak and what better time to take on the challenge at the Kokanee Power Pardee Lake Derby this Saturday July 21st.* *All proceeds as always help support the fishery and associated projects.

You can sign-up online here:

http://www.kokaneepower.org/derbies/online/20120721.html

or use the regular form here that has all the rules and info:

Payouts to 15th place and kids fish free with a paid adult.... get those kids out there to take advantage of the abundant Pardee Kokanee.

My prediction is somebody will find a 16 inch Kokanee since we have already heard of some 15's.

Good luck and hope to see you out there this coming Saturday.

Director, Kokanee Power

I thought I was going to be sitting this one out but I got the invite to join the fun and team up with JT. We'll be trying to find that 16 incher Kevin!! I have not fished Pardee since 2010 which was a very good year for me as far a derby's go. I'm looking forward to the fun and seeing some friends on the water and after. Hope to be there Fri. afternoon for a little pre fishing. See ya then and good luck to all, Mark

Most Excellent Mark! As I recall it was out of the box thinking that worked for you that year with your 1st place finish... Rachel did well for herself as well but now she's my greenhorn and out of the junior leagues. You and JT are ringers for sure. Will you be up there Friday night? If so I'm sure I will see you around.

Just a heads up that we are bumping the start time for the Pardee derby to 6:00AM instead of 6:30AM. We have plenty of light and time to be on the water at Pardee and this gives everyone an additional 30 minutes of fishing. We'll still have the Sat morning sign-ins up until 6:30AM.

We'll be advising everyone of this at the Friday check-in as well.

Glad you made it and placed as well for cash... it was a warm derby day but we had fun out there as usual. Rachel and I just missed blind bogey but Jenna placed 3rd in the juniors so she was happy. We have two more derbies left this year.. Stampede and Shaver Lake.

Actually you placed 6th (the check might have had 7th in the notes in error)... Here's the results and a few stats:

This is a 3 fish weigh in for the adults and the number is in ounces.* Kokanee Power always does payouts down to 15th place so here are the results, also mirrored on the KP Site:

1* *Nate and Cindy Lenard * ** ** ** **43.60
2* *Jim & James Franco* ** * ** ** ** ** * 40.45
3* *Jack & Blake Schultz-A Traynor* ** *40.15
4* *John & Dick Minnis* ** ** ** ** ** ** * 39.8
5* *RJ Sanchez, J Wendt, P Clark* ** ** 38.6
6* *Brian Stahley Jr. & Sr. * ** ** ** **38.4
7* *Jason Tidwell, Mark Damron * ** 38.30
8* *Fred Scott, Tim Marble * ** ** ** **38.25
9* *Al Millan, Mikey G* ** * * ** ** ** ** * * 38.15
10 Rich & Tim Collins* ** * * ** ** ** ** ** 37.90
11 Cordell Meidinger * ** ** ** ** ** ** *37.55
12 Ron & Carl Lemos, Jake Koontz * ** 37.35
13 Wes & Fred Hamasaki * ** ** ** **36.95
14 Fred & Leslie McAlister * ** ** ** **36.80
15 Dale Gibbons, Steve Kynard * ** 36.60

Juniors - 1 fish weigh-in
1 Natey Lenard* * 12.15
2 Bella Arietta* ** 12.00
3 Jenna Smith* ** 11.70
4 Abbey McKown* 11.65
5 Ty Collins* ** ** 11.45

Now for a few fish stats as KP always takes down the weight and length of the biggest fish of the 3 weighed in for each team.* Of those fish here are a few stats:

1 fish made it just over 15 inches
8 fish were in the 14 inch class

Top 3 fish by length:

15.4 inches
14.9 inches
14.3 inches

Top 3 fish by weight:

15.85oz
15.65oz
15.20oz

Thanks to all that participated and took part to support the Kokanee fishery.
