I will be visiting family in Vancouver the week of May 7-11. They don't fish but I would like to get away and do some fishing. Are there any good lakes for kokanee close by. Would they also rent out boats. Would anybody up there like to take me koke fishing. I will pay my way and then some to fish with someone who knows the area. Thanks

I don't know the area around vancouver. However I'm just 60 miles south in Wa. Bellingham is the closest airport. If you don't find someone to take you fishing in B.C., Drop down to Bellingham on your way home. There are 4 lakes with koks in the county. One is Lake Whatcom. It is 325 ft. deep and has a kok hatchery. Maybe the best is Lake samish. It's a little smaller and less than 150 ft deep. It does produce good number and is stocked from lake Whatcom. Lake Whatcom and Lake Samish are both within 10 miles of town.

I just might take you up on that, depending on what I find out about Vancouver's koke fishing. Thanks

Send me a private message if you deside to fish this side of the border. Easy to get here by car or airlines. Or phone me (360) 599 2837

Kawkawa Lake just outside of hop has some decent kokanee fishing, not the biggest fish, but usually get lots of action.
not Vancouver but not to far away.
