Bduck's son, Josh, stopped by today for some help mounting downriggers on his new to him family fish & ski boat. And like all boats of this type, it was not downrigger mount friendly. I was all set to use the V-Lock like I did for another friend but the upholstery was full height and front to back. I ended up using a 5 1/8" X 6 1/8" X 1/4" and a 7" X 3" X 3" X 1/4" piece of aluminum to build the bracket. This is solid as a rock!

that little pull knob will break in the housing. I have been through two at 100 bucks apiece and now I just secure the travel with a line and snap. Actually,I like the snap setup better. Watch it there...

Dan, did the bases look familiar?

Ralph, it sounds like you've had bad luck. The swivel bases on my boat are at least 10 years old and never had a crack of a pin break. And, they are 100% life time warranty. (Free replacement)

[I] will post a pic of the break and send them back to Cannon
