It's probibly the switch. I had a minnkota with a faulty switch. I wasn't hard to replace , but cost 35$ about ten years ago. To check it, take the top screws off of the head and look to see if the switch looks melted. Forgotto ask- is it a hand control or foot control? Obviously the switch then would be in the foot control.

Hope it's not remote control, or hope that it is still in warranty.

turn it over and beat on it, all it takes is a speck of dirt in the switch and it will make it stay running. My tarova will not fit on your V-2.

Jason, I have a Minn Kota foot pedal you can have if it fits your model of motor. I've always used the copilot.
