The pvc shaft on my MK trolling motor gets real sticky in the sleeve and is hard to deploy. I've tried sanding / steel wooling the shaft to remove chalk but doesn't help much. Should I try waxing it? Anybody else have the problem or found a solution?

Have you tried WD-40 or a silicone spray?

I haven't tried any applied lubricant yet. Sometimes those things backfire so I thought I'd see what others have done first.

I use Lemon Pledge on mine. Works great....smells lemon fresh.

That's funny. The guys that demo the Little Giant Ladders at the State Fair use lemon Pledge all week on their ladders for easy sliding.
