View Full Version : Wind and Weather
Wondering if anyone has a particular website they use for prediciting weather and mainly wind. I am trying to get out to LP for a morning of fishing but need some help with wind conditions. My small boat gets pushed around pretty good by a stiff breeze. I don't mind rain but the wind kicks my butt. Any methods to predict the next mornings wind?

fishing notes .com is what my 16 ft john boat goes by. rarely can I fish by the dam because of wind. I usally head to arrowrock or spring shores. I also put 2 sandbags at the bow.

I use weather.com
It's usually pretty close.
Put in the city or zip and then click details, That will give you wind info. Usually add another 50% on top of the forecasted wind for CJ Srike.

Here is what I use.

This station is on the right just before the bridge.

This one is on Highland Valley Summit, usually between the two you can guess the wind.

lnnnsxt,
Very helpful info lnnnsxt. Thanks for the tip.
Weather info was very helpful. Also liked the idea for putting sand in the bow of the boat. Already told the wife she's out and the sand's in; oh what a quiet day of fishing.

Weather Underground is great....using the map function you can see wind in the region for all weather stations.
