Such a beautiful place to go fishing, Wallowa Lake. Those Pictures show that the lake has more reasons than just the enviroment for going there to fish. Congratulations on such a nice Kokanee catch.worthy12worthy12

Brings up a question only each of us can answer. What size Koke tips your wall hanger mark? I'm afraid 5 1/2 lbs wouldn't have made it to the plate if I caught it.

never have caught one too big to eat. they all go down after 2 or 3 days of leftover koke sandwiches. m m good

nothing hangin on my walls, just something to catch dust and another reason for the wife to keep me home dusting

--depends where I caught it.... several lakes we fish here 2-3 lbs ave and 3-5 often.
--also some are hatchery supplement no shortage of the big guys so fair game for table fare.

--have also found in some instances the larger fish are natural sterile or less fecund as opposed to being something special.

--will be some experimentation in stocking lakes with all sterile kokes like has been done for some trophy trout lakes with no river spawn opportunity.. ie shore spawn kokanee which tend to be smaller...

Already have my reservations for May. Hope I can do that well this year.
