I just got back form my 3rd 10+ day trip to Central Oregon this year.
I camped at Paulina(where I missed meeting Silver Bullets again), and spent most of my time fishing Paulina and East Lake, with a day trip each to Wickiup and Odell.
Wickiup has been drained to about 90% of its orginal size, but the Brown and White fish were stacked in the Deschutes Arm. The boat ramp was 100's of feet from the water, so it was a bank show.
This is Wickiup, it was over 20' deep here in June.

A couple of Browns, nothing huge, but I was happy.
Caught casting 5" Rapalas.

My new favorite DR release.

We managed quite a few grand slams on East Lake(Browns, Rainbows, Atlantic Salmon, Lakers and Kokanee, sometimes a couple a day.
All the lakes were piratically empty of fishermen.
I can hardly wait until ice out in the Spring.

How about more info on your new favorite release? I have seen these in stores but they look complicated. I like simple and you can't get much simpler than the little yellow releases, but I am always open to different ideas.

This is the link.http://downriggerrelease.com/
I find these to be much easier and quicker to attach the line than conventional releases.
It is easy to attach to the DR cable, and is infinitely adjustable, can be used for 50lb or 5oz fish.
The only draw back is the price.
I like that I can go from using a small Kok dodger and spinner/Apex, one minute, then attach a 30+" flasher with a 6" Rapala and all I have to do is turn the dial to increase tension.
