We fished Wallowa everyday last week. This is only our second trip to this lake, our first was in 2003. The weather was almost perfect, just 1 day overcast and drizzly. The fishing was slow. We caught a few fish each day, but it was not a hot bite. We found the fish between 25' and 55', with no difference in the size at different depths. We caught 8" fish at 55' and 20" fish at 30'. Most productive setup was Sep's 4.0 Raspberry Splatter dodger and bright pink hoochies. The dayglow pink hoochie worked best, with solid pink close second. We used Berkley pink power maggots, and ProCure shrimp jell. They seem to like very slow speeds, in fact I would take it out of gear and let our stuff start to drop, and they would hit it then or when I put it in gear and strarted to go again??? It's a beautiful place to fish, just don't go expecting a hot bite. Here are some pictures from our trip. We caught 5 to 10 fish each day, mostly small 8" to 10".... We started at 5am everyday and fished till 1 or 2pm. Most of the fish were caught before 7:30am.
