Got a shout from Limit Stick friday afternoon seeing if i could fish saturday. I was in, just had to be on the road home around noon.
Hooked up in winters and headed for the Cappell launch.

Splashed the jetcraft and headed for the skiers area...

Dam sun comes up early these days...Lines wet about 545...

Took about 20 minutes to get our first hook up...
Worked the area with a few boats around and put a couple in the box and released a couple dinks..

Meanwhile we enjoyed some of the finer things in life...
Smoked Koke...

And the mandatory morning red beer to level ya out...

The fleet started to build so we moved out and found our own water...
Thats when we really started whackin em...

The bigger grade of fish are just plain hot...
They fought ya straight down as opposed to the smaller fish kinda surfing the top in...
Then when they see the net they peel 20yds of line like nothin...and do this a couple times...
Havent had fish pull line lke this except the gorge...
Aerials and tailwalking was not uncommon either..

After watching me land a couple nice fish Jason hooked up with the right kind and this fish worked him over...it was great...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/mjcook6/2010%20Fishing/June2010027.jpg

Biggest of the day at 18.5" and 2.5lbs on the digital scale...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/mjcook6/2010%20Fishing/June2010029.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/mjcook6/2010%20Fishing/June2010030.jpg

So at 930 we had 8 in the box and at 945 we hook a double...i get mine in the boat and jason gets worked before breaking off his rear hook and losing the fish..

He then proceeded to loose the next five fish before the devil came onboard at around 1130...

Best part was we could see boats all bunched up together in a couple areas...
However we were all alone and putting fish in the box...

Limit Stick is his name...

Pink was the color and best depths were 35-45...

Matt,

Thanks taking another chance with the boat. IT felt great to have the boat running great and putting the smack down on our own fish.

A couple of the details on the tactics...

Speed 1.5-1.7 gps
Garlic Scent
Most hookups were 38ft over 75-90ft of water
10-15 foot set back

Red Boat
Red Hat
Red Beer

Stellar Reporting of a Great Morning Bro

Nice Going Fellas!

yeah damn its like getting up to go duck hunting these days - hella bright hella early

haha Big Carl with hint of kokanee essence - Nice!

ahhh yes red beer and smoked kokanee - I bet that be a killer breakfast on the water - I know the red beer is - that's what we had too

the most patterened Ive seen them yet this year there - what was wierd was same depth from first light through the morning, and the biters coming almost all from just a few feet of the column - and they really keyed in on just a few things

they are starting to group up.

Love the feel of the 6lb braid when playing an 18"er - we actually second guessed whether that one was a kokanee because the runs it was making. long runs of line peel

Glad Ya Gottem Bro - you were due for a day like that

Thanks Again for the Intel Bro - they were right were ya said

These guys knows how to post a report !....still remember the Gorge report from last June that kept me sleepless at night for 2 weeks until we finally got there..lol...good job guys, like your style.....Headin to the Gorge in about 22 days...wish I was closer to big Berry but that's still 5-6 hours from me!!! So...
I guess I'll just have to suffer the torturous wait until Buckboard marina appears on the horizon.....Lets hope I can share some good pics and adventures with ya'all.......I have a funny feelin..........
