View Full Version : Homemade salmon plugs

Here is my second try at bulding plugs. These are the first three pics. The first set I had problems with the paint running when I applied the epoxy. With these, I coated the plugs with a clear sacrificial layer of paint befroe the epoxy went on, that seemed to help. I still had an issue with the epoxy layer coming out decent/uniform.

The next two pics are the next attempt about a month later. Still not comfortable with the epoxy.

The last two pics are from a Lhue Jensen kit that someone gave me a few years ago, but hadn't gotten around to painting and building them until I was finising the plugs in the 4th & 5th pic.

I still have a few more sets that are more recent to post. Just today I put the clear coat on about 40 little "fly rod plugs". In a couple days I'll get some pics of these.

Wow those are some cool looking plugs ! awsome job at making them let us know how they work!

Pogue. Those look very nice. Good luck with getting the salmon's opinion.
