Anybody's wife or friends own a Cricut? They are fancy paper cutters for doing crafts and scrap booking. My friend's wife is way into it so I asked her to try and cut some of my dodger tape. She found a pattern that fits a few different dodger shapes and cut me about 30 decals in less than an hour. It sure beats my template and a razor blade. Ask your wife to ask around about who might have one. It will make your life much easier!

One of the cartridges has fish sillouettes that look cool. When you program the cutter, you pick the image and then indicate the size in 1/4" increments. MMM, you mentioned wanting something for your DR weights, the fish sillouette might be neat for that. But it sounds like you'll have to go to an online dating site and look for someone with a cricut! laugh hyst laugh hyst

I bought 2 different pair at the local craft store on sale for $3.98 each. They have several types of designs & are cheap enought that you can buy a couple of designs. Look in the "Scrap Book" section of the store.

kokonuts, my neighbor stole his wife's scrapbooking box and brought it over to my house. My palm has been bruised for a couple days now from slamming the top of those punch cutters.

Is that what your useing to cut those dot and oval shapes that are showing up on your latest dodgers Dave?

The little dots I started before I got the scrapbook cutters by using a standard "hole punch" like you use for paper to put it in a binder. The oval and larger shapes are from the scrapbook cutters. If one goes to look for these, there are 2 styles. One has a little lever you push with your thumb and the other has a big button you slam with your fist. I found the thumb lever type to be worthless on dodger tape.

I think the newest baddest Cricut 'Expression' machine has a USB connection. You should be able to connect to your laptop and use the Sure Cuts-A-Lot program to design your shapes.

Watch this video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttjS5KQJN8I

edit: No need to buy the baddest. The software works with all the Cricut machines.

Check with Ironhead on the Hooker.

Somehow I can't see spending the money on a Cricut machine for 30 or 40 dodgers a season. I could buy more dodgers with that money and continue to use my tritanium shears for cutting out patterns. 101thumbsdown101

I was thinking it might be worth it to get married to a gal with a Cricut machine but I came to my senses and will keep using scissors.laugh hyst

That's the approach I tried to take. I send envelopes of tape but it is a long time between finished product. I must not be paying enough.
