At it again today. Launched first at 5 am from cappell cove. Had the skiers cove area to myself for a few hours, and got a 13'' bleeder @ 17ft OTW with a RMT Bahama (silver/blue) and a UL blue spinner. Made the move to the big island around 7am. Not too hot at first, but as I got even with the southern tip trolling from west to east in 100 ft of water, got a double on a red RGT and a RMT pink Hornet spinner, both behind pink splater dodgers from RMT @ 36 ft and 30 ft OTW. Got one more on a subsequent pass through the same waypoint. l The kokes from this school went 17.5'', 18, and 18.5''. Finished my limit around 10 am at skiers cove again out in the deep open water with a nice fighting 20'' king caught on the pink hornet spinner combo at 41 ft OTW. Best speed was 1.4-1.6 mph....setback 50 ft.

Hey William - Tks for both of your detailed reports and glad to hear you got a limit out there. We struggled yesterday for one fish to bring home per my report. We had a nice BBQ lunch though and I got to test all kinds of tackle. :-)

Man I thought the three from the other report were nice, this limit outshines that trio for sure. Nice work, keep the reports coming.

Have you been changing setbacks at all? I have been curious, most of what I've read is that the shallower you are in the water column, the longer setback required.

I troll with a Bow mount electric and set back about 50 ft from the ball. from my expereince kokes are not too boat/line shy. Especially at Berryessa where the lake lice are abundant, and they are used to the noise. If I am trolling with ball trolls the set back is max 10 ft from the ball. Gone_Fishin and myself were catching kokes from New Melones with ball trolls and setbacks of 5-10 ft at less than 30 ft OTW, using my main motor which is a 115 hp Merc. I dont think they care too much.
