I saw these browsing through Cabelas tonight. I guess a guy would have to have the spot to install them but a pretty cool way to keep your boxes neat on the boat!

I 've looked at those units several times " D " I was wishing that I had a place to mount them on my boat. It is a great idea.

Thanks Bullitt.

Anyone ever install one of these or one like it through a pontoon boat deck?

I made a number of these for customers and Freinds. I wish some times that I did not have an inboard so that I could utilize these. They are not inexpensive but well made with an oven baked on plastic coating. I am going to redo the entire transome area on my own boat putting these Plano box holders into the transom area. The Carpet covered wood is not holding up and it is time to upgrade to diamond plate and lots more storage. I want to get all the tackle boxes off the floor of the boat.

My apologies for not posting the pic. Too many things going on.

I put one of these in my boat when I first got it. It's handy but small and limited storage. I'm much more satisfied with the storage provided under the bench seats, and ultimately bit the bullet and bought aluminum storage boxes to mount my front swivel seats on....that was a big improvement and I was fortunate to get a great deal on used boxes through Craigslist.

Hi,

I put this unit on my Arima Sea Hunter and am really happy with how easy installation was, and how they work.

I've been thinking about doing something like this on my boat , BUT I would have to cut out enough of the foam for the box to fit in. Since this is the area at the rear of the boat & under the motor well I havnt done it.

So my question has been would removing the foam for the box be a good or bad idea? Would I sink the boat???? 101idea101

My personal opinion is that if you've taken on enough water that 1 sq ft of foam determines if your boat sinks or not, you're in pretty big trouble. I'm the throw caution to the wind kind of person though. However, no reason you couldn't put an equal amount of foam somewhere in the bow or under a floor board.

Thanks , Thats what I am thinking, so I 'll put it in this winter!
