I bought one this year and I love it. It telegraghs strikes really well and fighting fish with it is fun. It is a bit soft for flatlining. I have a 7' Vances tackle.

spiral wraps help the rod bend more naturaly and take the bind out when reeling in fish. i have one its a lake trout rod by walker

I own 2 or 3 as well and like them. I tend to use them more for trout downrigging for bigger fish or King Salmon at Shasta for example.

I've spiral wrapped all my trolling rods for years. The real plus is the spiral keeps the line from rubbing the blank, with fewer guides than a conventional wrap. this saves on weight and is less work to build.

Monday my 2 rainshadow RDR76L blanks showed up. I will be spiral wrapping with micro-guides. The action on these light blanks is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I'm only sad that I will have them ready so many months before kokanee catching gets good. Anyway, the theory is that spiral wrapping makes a more stable rod.
