I fished Merwin yesterday (3-27-) and got my first limit of the season! thumbsup
It was slow in the morning after I picked up the first on the south side across & down aways from Speelyia. Then I went down toward the dam & picked up one more then moved back up to the North side going east past the houses. It must have been past 1:00 by then and most of the boats were leaving as the wind was up & getting choppy. I picked up 3 more in about 11/2 hours.
I tried using some of my usual "Stuff" all day but I caught All 5 on a Brass Blade Lake troll that I did a "Custom Paint"
job on, (Gold Flake finger nail polish) and a few beads. That and a Custom Pink , Green & Yellow Glow Beads wedding ring style with a Brass Spinner did the job! I was fishing on Top in the morning then dropped to 12ft. in the afternoon.
I promised a friend that I wouldnt share his "SECRET" but I wasn't using ANY TYPE OF CORN. Hint..."It" was Pink!
I talked with a couple of others back at the Marina and everyone had a good day! A boat with 3 aboard had 10 in the boat & said they lost several others!
I think this will be a good year at Merwin, my fish were all in the 12"-13" range & looked fat & sassy!
I also noticed the Water Temp was up to 47 from 45 last week.
Cant wait for next week, I'll be running 2 Poles so I can catch one in each hand!!...........tooexcited........
