A hotshot fighter pilot pulled up alongside a lumbering C-130 and decided to show off.
The fighter jock told the C-130 pilot, "watch this!"
He then put in an amazing display of high speed acrobatics and finished by breaking the sound barrier.

The C-130 pilot radioed the fighter jock," If you think thats something..just watch this!"

The fighter jock watched for about 10 minutes but the C-130 just kept lumbering along.. finally the C-130 pilot called over, "What did you think of that?"
The puzzled fighter jock asked, "What the heck did you do ?"

The C-130 pilot chuckled, "Oh I just stood up,stretched my legs, walked to to the back of the plane to take a pee, then got a cup of coffee and ate a cinnamon roll."

I've always liked that one. The C130 Hercules is the trash hauler for the Air Force. laugh hyst A very well made aircraft started getting built back in the 1950's era and still being produced today but with state of the art modifications.

Roger, when we were in San Antonio, Lackland had planes from all eras on display throughout the base. It was cool to see them. When I was a kid, I fell in love with the P-41. I saved my money so I could buy a Cox engine model of the plane. It's still one of my favorites.

If I remember correctly I got a tour of the inside of a C-130 up in Seattle. They used to pick up the sections we made for the B-2 Stealth Bomber and haul them down to Edwards for final assembly. I think you could play a game of football inside that thing!

Silver Bullets, the newer C17 is a pretty good size cargo plane that is bigger than the C130. The C5 is still the largest in the Air Force. That might be the football field your thinking of. Whenever there is an airshow, these 3 aircraft are on display.

I believe that the C-17 replaced the the old C-141 Starlifter. I've spent a lot of hours inside the 141 and C-17's and the C-5's loading them with eveything that could be imagined .

Your exactly right AFDan. I cut my teeth on the C141. Like any other jet, when it ages it eventually gets replaced.

Some of my favorite fighters.

Nice to see that F-15E MHAFB T-Bolt jet wrapped around two of my F100-220 engines. I just hit the 26 year mark working on the F-15. It's a love/hate relationship :-)
