While on one of my annual road trips to a drag racing event, a buddy asked me if I wanted to get out on the salt chuck for a couple days. Was pretty good fishing, we brought back a few Springs. 30, 22, 15, 14, 12, 10 lbs

We certainly have done a very poor job of managing our salmon populations. Only those two were wild, (30 and 22lb), the other 4 were hatchery fish. I grew up on the coast, I've never seen a hatchery fish until this trip. Apparently that's the normal ratio now. Only allowed to keep 2 salmon per day.

Good report. I hope the salmon population returns to normal. Down here in California, we aren't allowed to catch salmon at all because of the low numbers returning. Also, Cohos are a thing of the past and haven't been legal to catch for years. When I look at your photos, I think about the days when we used to be able to catch salmon here.crymeariver
