Thought I would post this as information on what the Green River and water level is doing so here you go:

July 15, 2009

Releases from Fontenelle Reservoir are currently approximately 2,400 cfs. There has been a request from contractors for the City of Green River to decrease flows to 900 cfs by next week for approximately 4 days to facilitate work around the City’s white water park. Contractors need the flow lowered to rebuild coffer dams to protect their work area. This will allow the contractors to complete work and be out of the river before the Fall Kokanee run. Conversations with the Wyoming Game and Fish and Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge indicate that the reduction in flow for 4 days will not significantly adversely affect aquatic species and habitat in and around the river.

Therefore, beginning tomorrow, July 16, 2009, releases will be decreased according to the following schedule:

Date Time Initial Release Change Final Release
MDT (cfs) (cfs) (cfs)
7/16/2009 09:00 2,400 -250 2,150
7/16/2009 15:00 2,150 -250 1,900
7/17/2009 09:00 1,900 -200 1,700
7/17/2009 15:00 1,700 -200 1,500
7/18/2009 09:00 1,500 -150 1,350
7/18/2009 15:00 1,350 -150 1,200
7/19/2009 09:00 1,200 -125 1,075
7/19/2009 15:00 1,075 -125 950
7/19/2009 24:00 950 -50 900

After the final change at midnight on Sunday July 19, 2009 releases will remain at 900 cfs until further notice. I anticipate that releases will remain at 900cfs through the week and then will likely be increased back up to approximately 1,500 cfs, or powerplant capacity beginning on Friday July 24, 2009. This will be confirmed with a subsequent notification next week.
