I had the opportunity to fish Shaver Lake this morning with Ironhead and couldn't have asked for better conditions. These were our first 2009 limit's. This lake has some nice fish in there already. Reports of 16.75" fish, but we found the 14-15" variety (Fat).

The good stuff:
Attractors: Rockey Mountain/ Sierra Tackle dodgers
Lures: Sierra Tackle/ Homemade hootchies (Pink)
Scent: Garlic and unscented
Location: The Point to Black Rock
Speed: 1.3-1.5
Depth: 27-38' with short set backs

Great day out there today Scott. We sure needed some early season "silver bullets" to get the blood pumping. Hard to believe the fight in these early season missile's.

Next time I will show you where I hide my lures. laugh hystlaugh hyst

Congrats on the limits. Shaver seems to be in good shape this year. I love that lake for its boulder structure and my downrigger weights always seem to come back wounded. :-)
